چکیده
In this paper, we analyze the stability of the sinusoidal responses of second order interpolative marginally stable bandpass sigma delta modulators (SDMs) with the sum of the numerator and denominator polynomials equal to one and explore new results on the more general second order interpolative marginally stable bandpass SDMs. These results can be further extended to the high order interpolative marginally stable bandpass SDMs. Index Terms⎯Interpolative marginally stable bandpass sigma delta modulators, resonance, sinusoidal responses.

Nonlinear Stability Prediction of Multibit Delta-Sigma Modulators for Sinusoidal Inputs
—This paper proposes a novel algorithm that can be integrated with various design and evaluation tools, to more accurately and rapidly predict stability in multi-bit delta-sigma (Δ-Σ) modulators. Analytical expressions using the nonlinear gains from the concept of modified nonlinearity in control theory are incorporated into the mathematical model of multi-bit Δ-Σ modulators to predict the stab...
متن کاملExcess Loop Delay compensated Electro-Mechanical Bandpass Sigma-Delta Modulator for Gyroscopes
This paper presents a new excess loop delay (ELD) compensated micro-electro-mechanical sigma-delta modulator (Σ∆M) incorporating a gyroscope in series with a second-order electrical bandpass filter. The bandpass filter is optimized for large ELDs and is realized in a feedforward structure. The Σ∆M is implemented on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) emulating continuous-time (CT) behavior i...
متن کاملTime-Mode Signal Quantization for Use in Sigma-Delta Modulators
The rapid scaling in modern CMOS technology has motivated the researchers to design new analog-to-digital converter (ADC) architectures that can properly work in lower supply voltage. An exchanging the data quantization procedure from the amplitude to the time domain, can be a promising alternative well adapt with the technology scaling. This paper is going to review the recent development in t...
متن کاملAccurate stability prediction of one-bit higher-order delta-sigma modulators for multiple-sinusoidal inputs
The present approaches on predicting stability of Delta-Sigma (Δ-Σ) modulators are mostly confined to DC inputs. This poses limitations as practical applications of Δ-Σ modulators involve a wide range of signals other than DC such as multiple sinusoidal inputs for speech modeling. In this paper, a quasi-linear model for Δ-Σ modulators with nonlinear feedback control analysis is presented that a...
متن کاملGlobal stability, Limit cycles and Chaotic Behaviors of Second Order interpolative Sigma Delta modulators
It is well known that second order lowpass interpolative sigma delta modulators (SDMs) may suffer from instability and limit cycle problems when the magnitudes of the input signals are at large and at intermediate levels, respectively. In order to solve these problems, we propose to replace the second order lowpass interpolative SDMs to a specific class of second order bandpass interpolative SD...
